Why do i use a custom solution and not a existing package like Wordpress?

• Wordpress/PHP: I'm way more comfortable with C# / MVC and i want to develop own modules and functionallity.
• Blogengine: This served me well for the last 2 years - but i wanted to ditch ASP.NET WebForm competely.
• FunnelWeb: This was initally my favorite - until i needed to add custom fields

• and i used N2CMS already for more than 10 websites and portals

With help from Bill Keller i just patched hotkey <ctrl>+D support into the Diigo Chrome Extension v1.6.3.0.

First find your Chrome Profile Folder: http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=142059

Then replace the existing \Default\Extensions\oojbgadfejifecebmdnhhkbhdjaphole\1.6.3.0_0\js\content\diigolet.js with this one: diigolet.js (196.41 kb).

If you want to change the hotkey, just edit the file, look at the end and change bookmarkKeyChar.

If you want to step into the ASP.NET MVC source code you should use MS Public Symbol server for the .PDB files and the ASP.NET MVC source code ( witch should be be extracted in “c:\dd\Mvc\…” because Visual Studio will look there for it ).

But when inspecting variables you will encounter the errors:

“Cannot evaluate expression because the code of the current method is optimized.”

”Unable to evaluate expression because the code is optimized or a native frame is on top of the call stack.”

Now you could compile the MVC source yourself without strongly typed name and replace the assembly in your solution or even in the GAC, with all the shortcomings.

But there is an easier method:

Just disable the JIT-compiler’s optimizations by creating a simple .INI file.

Go to the directory where System.Web.Mvc .dll is located:

c:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Web.Mvc\2.0.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\

Create the file System.Web.Mvc.ini

[.NET Framework Debugging Control]
GenerateTrackingInfo=1
AllowOptimize=0

Next time you step into the MVC source code you can inspect all variables.

As Tube from the Surfpoeten showed us, we can supress the Vuvuzela sound by filtering the frequencies at 233, 466, 932 and 1864 hertz.

He used Logic Express on his Mac.

MTB in den Dolomiten: Rund um den Latemar

Am 23. und 24. Januar 2010 findet das 3. Tourismuscamp Eichstätt statt. Nachdem ich ja ein fleissiger Teilnehmer des Südtiroler Webmarketing Stammtisches, dessen Ablegers, des Pustertaler Webmarketing Stammtisches,und mach anderer loker Terrassentreffen bin, wird's mal Zeit über die Grenzen Südtirols zu schauen.

Ich freu mich schon bekannte und neue Gesichter zu treffen.

Ein Rückblick auf das Event von 2009 [via tourismuszukunft.de ]

Für meinen neuen Rechner hatteich mir eine Western Digital 1.5TB Festplatte WD15EADS-00P8B0 bestellt.
Leider ist sie nicht entfernt so leise wie sie beworben wird! Nach ca 10-20 Sekunden ohne Disk Aktivität geht sie in den Idle Modus und beginnt mit einem sehr nervigen kontinuirlichen Summen ( rödeln? ) ähnlich eimn defekter Transformator.

Offensichtlich bin ich nicht der einzige mit diesem Problem:

Deshalb hab ich mal einen Austausch bei Western Digital angefordert. Ich bekomm die Disk auch ausgetausche, leider wird's wieder eine WD15EADS-00P8B0. :-(

Eine sofortige wenn auch etwas unschöne Lösung ist, alle 10 Sekunden auf die Festplatte zuzugreifen, und so zu verhindern, dass sie in Idle gehen kann.

Dafür hab ich mir auf die Schnelle ein Tool PollDisk.exe (89.00 kb) zusammengebastelt.
Einfach Festplatte auswählen und Zeitintervall einstellen.
